Unscripted material arrives from many sources at once: lavaliers, booms, camera tracks, handheld recorders and phone capture, often within a single sequence. Locations change constantly, and the background can shift mid-sentence.

Speakers overlap, interviews are recorded in whatever room was available, and archival recordings bring their own tone and noise floor. The first job is to make all of that sit together so the audience hears a program rather than a collection of sources.

Dialogue is assembled from the best available takes and sources, then matched for level and tone so the cut does not jump between microphones.

Noise reduction is applied where it improves intelligibility and stopped before voices start to sound processed. Restoration can improve a great deal, but it cannot recover information that was never captured — we review the material and tell you honestly what is achievable.

Format follows the platform or supplied delivery specification. Stereo covers most streaming, broadcast and digital unscripted delivery, and a 5.1 mix is prepared when the specification requires it.

Music carries pace and emotion between beats, and effects and backgrounds hold the sense of place across cuts assembled from different moments.

Both stay underneath the real voices. In unscripted work the audience is listening for what people actually say, so the supporting elements are used to guide attention rather than to dress the material up.
