Meet the Post-Production Mixers Behind Mix My Spot

Mix My Spot is the post-production audio mixing practice of John Frost and Patrick Bird. When you hire us, one of us mixes your project personally — there is no roster of junior staff and no handoff. That's the whole model: experienced entertainment mixers, working directly with the producers who hire them, from a room in North Hollywood and remotely with clients nationwide.

John Frost — Re-Recording Mixer

Trailers · Promos · Commercials · Game Marketing · Features

John has spent more than two decades mixing sound for picture, with a career built largely in the entertainment marketing world — theatrical and streaming trailers, network promo campaigns, national commercials and game trailers and cinematics — alongside long-form work on features, documentaries and episodic content.

Specialties: re-recording mixing for short-form campaign assets where impact and intelligibility have to coexist inside a strict loudness spec; dialogue rescue and consistency across mismatched sources; stereo, 5.1, 7.1 and Dolby Atmos delivery; and supplemental sound design when the cut needs more than what's in the turnover.

Selected credits: mix work on campaign material for Fall Guys, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Road House, Fallout, the FX Oscar Movie Marathon promo package, Xbox and SanDisk commercials, and a long list of network and studio campaigns. Full credit history is on IMDb.

Working philosophy: the mix should not pull a viewer out of the moment — not even for a second. A mix that calls attention to itself, however impressive, is a disservice to the story. The job is to make the picture land.

Patrick Bird — Re-Recording Mixer

Broadcast · Promos · Series · Branded Content

Patrick is a post-production mixer and sound editor whose work spans network and cable promo packages, episodic and branded content, documentary material and commercial spots. He is the steady hand on projects with a lot of moving parts — multiple cut lengths, multiple platforms and a delivery calendar that doesn't move.

Specialties: broadcast loudness compliance and multi-version deliverables, dialogue editorial and cleanup, music and effects balance for long-form playback, and surround delivery.

Working philosophy: consistency is a feature. A mix that holds up from the first minute to the last, across every version and every platform, is what actually gets a producer through delivery without surprises.
